Tennessee Department of Veteran’s Services: TDVS assists with claims for federal benefits, they help connect veterans to resources as well as working on veteran related state legislation.

Service Dogs:

Midsouth K9s for Veterans: this organization provides service dogs for veterans with PTSD. Applications should be emailed to [email protected]

Working Dogs for Vets: This organization trains veteran’s dogs to become service dogs. There is no cost, but the training is mostly done in Memphis, and there is a yearly check-in required.

Veterans Campuses with a PTSD Clinical Team: All VA Medical Centers offer PTSD care, however there are several VA Medical Centers in TN that have specialized programs for PTSD. The centers in Memphis and Mountain Home have specialized outpatient treatment programs for Women’s Stress Disorder as well.

VA Centers with Substance Use Disorder Programs: This is a list of VA centers in TN that provide Substance Use Disorder care. However, VA Medical Centers not on this list will still offer treatment, they just may not have a specific program.

Aid and Attendance Pension: Veteran Aid is a free resource that aims to guide veterans and their families through the process of VA aid and Attendance pension benefit application. This assistance, if eligible, can improve one’s quality of life with aging care.

Tennessee Department of Services: This is a source for Tennessee veterans. There are resources for employment, education, business, benefits, housing, and mental health.

Alpha Omega Veterans Service: This is an organization located in Memphis, TN that permanent and transitional housing.
